Ghostbusters Theme Song: Japan Does It Better Than Fall Out Boy

There has been much debated over the recent reboot of the Ghostbusters franchise, although honestly while recent reboots have generally left me with a feeling of meh (and the habit of trailers spoiling things lately, also kinda ruins it, thanks for showing Chris Hemsworth’s Keven as possessed), I truly am looking forward to Melissa McCarthy’s, Kristen Wiig’s, Kate McKinnon’s and Leslie Jones’ performances. For no matter how the film may end up, I know that these comedians will be funny and entertaining.

However, one thing which I believe can be agreed upon is the simple fact that the new cover of Ray Parker, Jr.’s classic (if heavily nostalgia biased) Ghostbusters theme by Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott is just really dull and bad. It is not entertaining and just feels lifeless.

Have a listen:

Granted some people will like it, but honestly I don’t.

However, Sony had a different cover of the classic song done for the Japanese release of the film, and I have to say I kinda like it.

Its silly, fun, over the top and all-round weird.

Featuring choreographed proton pack dancing by four popular Japanese comedians, by the name of Tomochika, Oniyakko Tsubaki, Naomi Watanabe and Shizuyo Yamasaki all dressed in the Ghostbuster regalia.

Honestly, it is good fun, have a listen:

To me, this song is the better cover. Although this is just my opinion, if you disagree feel free to comment.
