There was a spat of controversy with Disney’s recent live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, the internet was awash with the alleged gay moment with the character of LoFou, the flamboyant sidekick of Luke Evan’s Gaston, played by Josh Gad.
There has been much debated over the recent reboot of the Ghostbusters franchise, although honestly while recent reboots have generally left me with a feeling of meh (and the habit of trailers spoiling things lately, also kinda ruins it, thanks for showing Chris Hemsworth’s Keven as possessed), I truly am looking forward to Melissa McCarthy’s, Kristen Wiig’s, Kate McKinnon’s and Leslie Jones’ performances. For no matter how the film may end up, I know that these comedians will be funny and entertaining.
However, one thing which I believe can be agreed upon is the simple fact that the new cover of Ray Parker, Jr.’s classic (if heavily nostalgia biased) Ghostbusters theme by Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott is just really dull and bad. It is not entertaining and just feels lifeless.
Have a listen:
In what was a fairly meh fourth instalment to the Terminator franchise with Terminator Salvation, not a lot hope would be placed on any later additions. However, with the fact that the original Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, would return to his famous role, one cannot be help but be happy.
Of course, the reappearance of a classic character does not fully make a movie as we will see in the recent fifth instalment – Terminator Genisys.
