Call of Duty: Awards & Honours of Captain Viktor Reznov

Captain Viktor Reznov was the deuteragonist that appeared originally in Call of Duty: World at War, and later as a single-level playable character in Call of Duty: Black Ops, with a role as a key plot element in Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

The character himself is notably popular in part to the charismatic and bombastic performance of his voice actor, Gary Oldman. Effectively embodying Oldman’s infamous villainous roles from the 90s, perhaps most notably the Radek loyalist Ivan Korshunov in Air Force One (1997), only this time as a hero. Thus it is not surprising to see a recurrent interest in the character, one key area that can be addressed is Reznov’s military accolades. Famously monikered as “The Wolf” and the “Hero of Berlin”, much speculation abounds about the recognition Reznov would have received from the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union, as no dress uniform was shown nor were any decorations mentioned. So, assumptions can only be made on his actions and renown, in light to what awards were available at the time.

Pokémon Sword & Shield: The Kalos-Galar War

With Nintendo’s recent Direct, it has been revealed that the newest generation of Pokémon will be set in Galar, a region inspired by the British Isles, notably the island of Great Britain, which is composed of England, Scotland and Wales.

This reveal offers a remarkable expansion of the collective history of the Pokémon universe, primarily that of military history.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided & Album Art Easter Egg

There is a amusing little set of easter eggs that can be found in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. At any point while you are in the Czech capital of Prague, head on over to The Music Box in the northern section.

The Music Box itself doesn’t really offer much, there is a computer containing three mails, behind level one security. In basement, you can put a Biocell in a socket on the wall (corner) to unlock a secret safe, and the building itself is connected with the nearby flat at M3,32 via vents filled with poisonous gas (which when explored will give you +200XP), as well as leading to side passage in/out at M3,34 (which gives +200XP).

Once inside you will notice that the music store is filled to the brim with vinyls, and those who decide to take a closer look will recognise many of these vinyls by their parodic cover art.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night – E3 Demo Review

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is the effective spiritual successor to the Castlevania series, and to some is the long awaited fan desire for new game from Koji Igarashi free from Konami (and their recent actions) following his departure.

With $5.5 million gained from Kickstarter backers, far beyond its initial $500,000 goal, it was the highest-funded video game crowd funded campaign until it was surpassed by Yu Suzuki’s Shenmue III a month later.

Miriam_TransparentThe premise of the game focus on a orphan named Miriam, whose skin is slowly turning into crystal due to an alchemist’s curse, resultantly she seeks to stop this curse by finding the summoner Gebel (who also suffers from this curse and is still alive) in his demon-filled castle.

On the surface the game offers a lot of promise, visually the concept art and characters/enemies are stunning and unique. While the idea of Igarashi having free rein in creating a new Metroidvania game is something to hold a fair bit of hope.

The Legend of Zelda: Stalchildren & Child Soldiers

It’s a Stalchild. They were the cursed soldiers of the Kingdom of Ikana…” – Tatl in ‘The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask’

Stalchildren, also known as Stalkins in Twilight Princess, are recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series. They are fairly common enemies found Hyrule Field in Ocarina of Time and the Ikana Graveyard in Majora’s Mask, and while they tend to attack in hordes they are not notably difficult, rather they are more of a nuisance really. Although the fact that they spawn nonstop at night in Ocarina of Time can be somewhat unsettling for some players, especially since this is only when Link is a child.

Despite this they can only take, regardless of size, only two hits. If Link attacks a Stalchild from the front, it will lose its head and begin wandering around blindly without aim.

But what exactly are these skeletal enemies?
